I'm Hazel. I'm an art director with a love for all things creative!
Instead of diaries, I had sketchbooks. I figured out pretty early on that the way I communicated, processed and understood the world was visually.
It didn’t matter the medium, first it was drawing, then it went everywhere from sculpture, to photography, crochet, jewelry- you name it.
Art and design is the way I express my ideas and communicate with people. Growing up in Chicago, I developed an appreciation for creating work for and about people, which has led me to art direction and advertising. Understanding an audience and what will actually get their attention or focus is what makes each project exciting.
I started my journey in advertising at College for Creative Studies in Detroit, where I learned the principles of design, and the discipline of working through creative problems with tight deadlines. I then brought those skills to my work at Columbia College Chicago, where I have been expanding my knowledge in strategy and market research. Currently, I'm studying Art Direction in Advertising, and will be graduating in May 2026.
